cherry blossom photography. In a chance meeting at a client office the opportunity came up to photograph the first spring cherry blossom blooms in Rotorua.
The location was beside the Skyline Luge track, thereby providing the 'destination' angle to the photos. In previous years the client had not been able to get the shot they wanted because of bad weather, or missing the few days when the blossoming peaked.
With their regular photographer unavailable, and a window of opportunity of only a day or two they were keen to give me a shot at the job.
Day of the shoot was foggy, but with rain forecast that afternoon we had to try to get something. Fortunately there were enough breaks in the fog to get the shots needed. Remote flashes lit the luge riders who would otherwise have been in deep shadow under the trees.
